Founding Pastor, Michael Edwards, ThD., a faithful servant of God, along with his wife Lady Sherrie Edwards served in ministry together since 1976. Through years of well-regarded teaching, mentoring, counseling, discipleship and church planting, they were called to plant and lead a new church. In 1989, A New and Living Way Foursquare Church was started. After eight years of effective Pastoral ministry, the Lord called them to mobilize their existing congregation to the city of Riverside and facilitate the merger of their church with another. It was by the divine will of God that Wind of the Spirit Worship Center was birthed and the two congregations became one. From that time forward, Wind of the Spirit Worship Center became a vital ministry,influence and resource within the community. The reputation of the leadership and the church became revered and sought after, as a ministry and community partner. During the Edwards’ tenure, missional outreach, local outreach and evangelism, Bible-based teaching, leadership training, discipleship, church plants, commitment to giving and faithful stewardship yielded fruitfulness in the lives of many. Most remarkably, Wind of the Spirit Worship Center,affectionately dubbed “The Wind,” has become known for exemplifying the love of Christ Jesus and for the freedom of expression in worship unto God. It is by God’s grace and divine purpose,that this legacy remains today.
